Election Night a Big One for Bike Walk Vote PAC
Our 2012 election season has been super successful. Jonathan Maus of BikePortland covered the extent of our success.
With the votes counted from the May 15th primary, candidates supported by Bike Walk Vote did extremely well. In fact, five of the seven candidates they endorsed won outright and the remaining two — Jefferson Smith for mayor and Mary Nolan for City Council — finished very close seconds and will sail into runoffs in November.

Candidates Rally, Inspire ‘Bike Walk Vote’ Crowd
We thew a party at Crank to let the Active Transportation community meet the candidates we endorsed. The event was written up by Jonathan Maus of BikePortland.
Following their mayoral endorsement of Jefferson Smith last month, Bike Walk Vote unveiled several new endorsements yesterday including: Dick Schouten for Washington County Commissioner; Steve Novick and Mary Nolan for Portland City Council; and Sam Chase, Craig Dirksen, and Bob Stacey for Metro Council. Each one (except for Dirksen, who was a no-show) addressed the crowd with a short speech.

Bike Walk Vote Announces Endorsements for City Council, Metro
On April 4th we announced our endorsements for Portland City Council and Metro. BikePortland covered the news.
If all three of Bike Walk Vote’s City Council endorsements end up winning (they’ve chosen Jefferson Smith for mayor), we’ll have a new majority making decisions in Portland.
